We are one of some 4,500 congregations in the United States known as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We were established on the American Frontier in the early 1800's and grew with the nation, making our contributions to its rich heritage.

Founded on the belief that all Christians are united in Christ, this fellowship, throughout its history has promoted greater cooperation among the churches.

The name, "Christian Church" is a universal biblical name (Acts 22:26) with "Disciples" in parenthesis designating our particular fellowship of congregations.

First Christian church has been in existence since 1902, and has been at this location all of its lifetime. Our hope and prayer for the future is that we might continue in ministry to this community, sharing the love of Christ.
